Keith David Ross

Keith David Ross, 56, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at his Warsaw home.

Keith was born March 5, 1959 to Harold and Frances (Jay) Ross in Oakland, Calif. He was a 1977 graduate of Tennyson High School in Hayward, Calif. He was a welder for General Motors.

He was an artist and enjoyed fishing, hiking and camping. He loved the out of doors. Keith was very kind and an animal lover.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather: Frances Ross and John Gagen, Warsaw; two brothers: Troy Ross, Warsaw; and Jay Ross, Syracuse. He was preceded in death by his father: Harold Ross, on Sept. 10, 2012; and his brother: Mark Ross.

A private family service will be held. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Joseph ‘Joey’ Roscoe Adams

Joseph AdamsJoseph “Joey” Roscoe Adams, 37 of Fort Wayne and formally of Warsaw, passed away at 1:21 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, in Fort Wayne.

On Nov. 6, 1977, he was born in Columbia City, to Joseph and Sherry (Sutton) Adams. He was employed with Lincoln Financial, Fort Wayne. Joey previously worked for Ace Hardware and was an assistant director for the Boys and Girls Club, Warsaw. He had also received his Master’s degree in Fine Arts. Joey was very artistic; he enjoyed painting and making jewelry.

Joey is survived by his father: Joseph Adams, Warsaw; two sisters: Melissa (James) Wood, Tenn.; and Sherri Renee Fugate, Warsaw; his brother: Lacie (Sabrina) Michael Adams; Warsaw; and several nieces; nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Joey was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

A funeral service will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Denny Wilson officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation hours will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, and also from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, in the funeral chapel.

Delores M. Moorman

Delores M. Moorman, 89, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015, in Warsaw.

She married the Rev. Arvian Habegger, who died in 1961. She later married Jesse Moorman, who preceded her in death in 2007.  Delores was a homemaker and a member of Berne Evangelical Church where she taught Sunday school.

Survivors include a son: Deale Habegger; and a daughter: Kathy (Terry) Winteregg, all of Warsaw.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Berne Evangelical Church, with Pastor Kent Fahl officiating. Burial is in Evangelical Mennonite Church Cemetery, Berne. Calling will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne, and also one hour prior to the service Friday.

ZimmermanCharles E. Zimmerman, 92 of Warsaw, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

On Sept. 17, 1922, he was born in Warsaw, to Wallace and Laura Bell (Anglin) Zimmerman. He was united in marriage to Catherine Schlemmer on January 29, 1950 in Warsaw, who preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 1993.

A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Charles was a graduate of Leesburg High School and was a lifelong farmer. Charles was devoted to his family all of the days of his life. He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa. He loved the outdoors where he spent most of his time with the farm.

He is survived by his son: Charles G. (Barb) Zimmerman, N.C.; two daughters: Nancy A. (Rick) McHenry, Leesburg; and Julia M. (Herb) Baldwin, Etna Green; four grandchildren: Melissa (Travis) Gunther, Ladera Ranch, Calif.; Matthew (Christine) McHenry, Warsaw; Georgia Baldwin, Warsaw; and Rebekah Baldwin, Etna Green; and two great-grandchildren: Kaspar Gunther, Ladera Ranch, Calif.; and Violet McHenry, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his sister: Helen M. Sellers.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m Saturday, June 27, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Robert Jarboe of Kosciusko Homecare and Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg.

Visitation hours will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the funeral chapel.

Robert ‘Bob’ Calhoun

Robert 'Bob' CalhounRobert “Bob” Calhoun of Fort Wayne, passed away at 6 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Kosciusko Community Hospital-ER of Warsaw, at the age of 60.

He worked for Calhoun Lumber and did many thing while working there. He drove the log truck as well as worked in the saw mill for many years.

Bob was born on July 5, 1954, in Prestonsburg, Ky. to Dewey Calhoun and Deliah (Rose) Calhoun. On June 28, 2005, he was married to Janet (Church) Calhoun, who survives in Fort Wayne.

He is survived by his daughter: Shawna (Ryan) Harshman, Silver Lake; three grandchildren: Owen; Delaney; and Brynna, Silver Lake; five brothers: Don Calhoun, Pierceton; Wayne Calhoun, South Bend; Dean (Sandy) Calhoun, Coldwater, Mich.; Joe (Teresa) Calhoun, Sidney; Denver Calhoun, Wolcottville; and his mother: Delilah Calhoun, South Whitley. He was preceded in death by his father: Dewey Calhoun, on Aug. 28, 2011.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, June 29, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.

His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home of Warsaw and officiated by Pastor Essie Allen. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.

Memorial donations may be directed to Free United Baptist Church, Pierceton, and would be appreciated by his family.

Theresa May Ingram

Theresa May Ingram, 78, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015, in Foutainview Terrace in LaPorte.

Theresa was born April 10, 1937, in Indianapolis, to Clifford Edward and Opal Iola (Richardson) Saters.
She and Gene Paul Ingram were joined in marriage April 4, 1958 in Indianapolis. He would precede her in death on Aug. 1, 2007.  A LaPorte resident and formerly of Warsaw, Theresa was a self-employed house keeper. She was a member of New Life Christian Church and World Outreach, Warsaw.

Survivors include her daughter: Linda Jo (Curtis) Crosby, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sons: Mark (Betty) Lair, Mill Creek; Chris (Kathy) Lair, Winona Lake; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister: Mary Botos, Indianapolis; brother: Edward (Ione) Saters, Lake Placid, Fla.

In addition to her husband, Theresa was preceded in death by two sisters: Linda Jackson; and Ruth Smith; and one brother: Richard Saters.

There will be no visitation or services.

However the family would appreciate gifts in Theresa’s memory to be directed to Real Life Church,  Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Jean Davis DorseyJean Davis Dorsey, 73, Warsaw, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Aug. 22, 1941, she was born in Goshen, to Lester and Frances (Lantz) Davis. Jean was united in marriage to William Dorsey on Feb. 20, 1987 in Bloomington, who survives.

Living most of her life in Warsaw, Jean graduated from Warsaw High School in 1959 and then went to Parkview School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1962. She worked for Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw; Dr. Wymond Wilson’s office, Mentone, for several years, and then Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, helping to raise them. She also enjoyed watching sports with her husband and her grandchildren’s activities. She also enjoyed traveling to Hilton Head, S.C. during the winter. Jean was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood and the Eastern Star. She was very active with the Hospital Auxiliary, Floral Design Group.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years: William Dorsey, Warsaw; two sons: Jay Allen Marsh, Washington D.C.; and Jeremy Adam Marsh, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Nicholas Alan Marsh; Blake Adam Marsh; and Emma Grace Marsh; three stepchildren: Debra Keiser, Granger; Christine Weiler, Lakeville; Jeff Dorsey, Nappanee; and three step-grandchildren: William Beehler Keiser; Korey Lynne Keiser; and Lucas Keiser. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and son: Jeffrey Aaron Marsh.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Jim Lawson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Roldan Hernandez

HernandezRoldan Hernandez, 80 of Warsaw, passed away at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

On Feb. 7, 1935, he was born in Hebbronville, Texas, to Lorenzo and Nieves (Aguilar) Hernandez. He was united in marriage to Jane Obolos in 1959 in Milford, who preceded him in death.

Roldan lived in the Milford and Warsaw areas since 1958. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Milford. He worked as a police officer for the City of Milford and also worked as a security guard in Elkhart.

He is survived by one sister: Gloria Bush, both of Hebbronville, Texas; his companion: Mary Ceballos, Warsaw; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son: Roldan Hernandez Jr.; two daughters: Sylvia Rivas; and Marie Hernandez; his brother: Lorenzo Jose Hernandez; and two sisters: Elda Molena; and Diane Araiza.

There will be a memorial visitation from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery, Milford at a later date.

Richard A. ‘Rick’ Hetler

Richard A. “Rick” Hetler, 61, Warsaw, passed away at 10:28 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born on April 2, 1954, in Warsaw, to Jack and Betty (Heagy) Hetler. He was a lifelong resident of Warsaw. Rick worked for the Kosciusko County Jail as a jail office as well as a school bus driver for Warsaw Community Schools. He was also an installer for United Telephone systems and worked in technical support for KCOnline Internet. He was a member of Clunette United Methodist Church.

Rick is surived by his son: Mike (Adriana) Hetler, Warsaw; and his sister: Sue Wood, Warsaw; his nephew: Jason (Desiree) Wood, Larwill. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gravesite will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with pastor Mike Beezley officiating.

Dallas Owens

Dallas OwensDallas Owens, 64, Warsaw, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

On Sept. 2, 1950, he was born in Warsaw, to Butler and Annie (Whitaker) Owens. He was united in marriage to Patricia Newingham on May 27, 1967, in Warsaw, who preceded him in death on March 15, 2012.

A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Dallas served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict as a Private First Class Gun Truck Driver in the 57th Transportation from 1970 – 1971. He worked for Archer Foundry and Warsaw Foundry as an iron pourer, retiring in 1986. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, National Rifle Association and the Civilian Marksmanship Program.

Survivors include three daughters: Missy (Charlie) Holbrook, Warsaw; Joni Owens, Warsaw; and Julie (John) Jeffries, Winona Lake; two sons: Jody (Terry) Owens, Winona Lake; and Dalis “Dewayne” (Holly) Owens, Warsaw; 10 grandchildren: Dillon (Jackie) Holbrook, Etna Green; Chase Holbrook, Warsaw; Gage; Mason; and Mollie Owens, Winona Lake; Sarah and Jaxson Jeffries, Winona Lake; Nicole (Kevin) Gayheart, Winamac; and Trevor and Alyssa Owens, Warsaw. Dallas is also survived by five brothers and sisters: Maggie (Elmer) England, Warsaw; Valis (Janice) Owens, Warsaw; Dale Owens, Fruitland Park, Fla.; Gale (Dana) Owens, Silver Lake; and Evie Spangle, Columbia City; and two brother-in-laws: James Smith; and Mitchell Bradford.

He is also preceded in death by two sisters:  Murline Smith; and Garna Bradford.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with military honors by the American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1196, Warsaw.

Visitation hours will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the church.

Patria Molebash

Patria Molebash (292x350)Patria J. Molebash, 89, Warsaw, passed away at 1:32 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born on April 12, 1926, to Ervin and Florence (Wright) Dock, in Warsaw.

On April 9, 1948, she was united in marriage to Paul E. Molebash, who preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2000. She and her husband Paul owned and operated Paul’s Sandwich Shop, in Warsaw, for 28 years. After the restaurant, she worked for Helvey and Associates.

Pat was an active member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church serving several years as chairman of the administrative council and United Methodist Women and she was active in OES 88 of the Eastern Star, Warsaw, where she served as Worthy Matron and as District Deputy. She also served as president of the Silver Fox Association.

She is survived by her son: Jim (Dagmar) Molebash, Warsaw; daughter: Jane Eaton and John Garber, Warsaw. She is preceded in death by two sisters: Hope Berlin; and Martha Thomas; and two brothers: Lowell and Robert Dock.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 6, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood.  Pastor James Lawson will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family is requesting that contributions be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood or Anthony Wayne Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, Fort Wayne.

Robert ‘Rob’ Dean Yantz Jr.

Robert “Rob” Dean Yantz Jr, of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly while on vacation in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the age of 50.

He was a 1983 graduate of Perkins High School in Sandusky, Ohio. He received his B.A. from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1987; and also his Master’s degree from Indiana Institute of Technology.

Rob had worked for DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc.of Warsaw for fifteen years, and most recently he had been working as the Controller for Paragon Medical in Pierceton, since 2007. He was a past board member of Combined Community Services, past board member of the 4-H Horse and Pony Club, and he attended Warsaw Community Church with his family.

He was very active in the community and especially in his children’s lives. He loved his daughter Kayla and would do anything for her. He enjoyed being a horse show Dad and making sure Kayla’s horses looked perfect for the show ring. He equally loved his son Michael, always there to encourage him while he played soccer and support him in everything he wanted to do. Rob will be lovingly remembered as a good friend, son, husband and caring father.

He was born on April 22, 1965, in Sandusky, Ohio to Robert Dean Yantz who survives in Sandusky, Ohio and his late mother Patricia Ann (Layton) Yantz. On Oct. 24, 1987 he was married to Michelle L. (Kohart) Yantz, who survives in Warsaw.

He also leaves behind his son: Michael Yantz, Warsaw; daughter: Kayla Lyne Yantz, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and his sister: Jennifer (Joe) Rose, Sandusky, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.

James Stewart ‘Stu’ Hippensteel

Stu HippensteelJames Stewart “Stu” Hippensteel of Warsaw, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at his residence in Warsaw at the age of 94.

He graduated from Chester Township High School with the class of 1940. He helped his parent’s farm until their death in the early 1950’s. He went to work for Warner Brooder Company for 14 years, then he answered a help wanted ad in the newspaper which brought him to Warsaw. It was a plumbing and heating supply company called Walmer Supply. After passing a course in plumbing and heating, they put him in charge of selling kitchen and bath cabinets at Walco Home Center. He really loved his job and did so for over 33 years, retiring in 2000. After a short time, about twelve friends got to playing euchre going from home to home especially at birthday time.

Stu was a member of Lake City Lions Club for over 45 years. In his retirement he worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Warsaw for fifteen years. He spent many happy years with his wife Bonnie doing some traveling and also square dancing, which they did for 22 years. He was known and loved for his dedication to his family. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren…he especially loved being called Grandpa!

He was born on March 31, 1921, in Wabash County near Urbana, to James Calvin Hippensteel and Bessie Edith (Kendall) Hippensteel. On Oct. 4, 1958 he was married to Bonnie Ilene (Rule) LaVine Hippensteel. They shared nearly 55 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on September 2, 2013.

He leaves behind his son: Michael LaVine, Mont.; daughter: Renee (Jim) Guy, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Kimberly (Gordon) Best, Mont.; Matthew Guy; Jacob (Sara) Guy; Erin Guy; and Ethan Guy, all of Warsaw; five great-grandchildren: Colton; Zachary; Kaylynn; Jenae; and Adam; and two sisters: Mabel Coble, Fort Wayne; Edith (Cecil) Jenkins, North Manchester. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister: Pauline Carter; and infant sister.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, July 3, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. There will also be an hour of viewing prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. His service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Etna Green Cemetery, Etna Green.

Memorial donations may be directed to Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, Warsaw, to go towards the Ramp Fund; or to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, Warsaw, and would be appreciated by his family.


Hazel Marie Null

Hazel NullHazel Marie Null, 92, Warsaw, went to be with her Lord on June 29, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor.

She was born on December 21, 1922, to Raymond Wolfe and Mary Amy Koons Wolfe in Dugger. She had 7 brothers and 2 sisters. She married Gene Wilkey in 1942 and John Null in 1956. They both preceded her in death.

She moved to Warsaw in 2000. She attended Warsaw Community Church where she volunteered on the Community Care Visitation Team. She was a member of WOW (Winning Over Widowhood) and the American Legion Auxiliary. She bowled until she was 85, winning trophies and medals in tournaments and Senior State Competitions. She volunteered at Miller’s Merry Manor Assisted Living helping residents with Bingo and playing Euchre. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading and working crossword puzzles. Most of all she cherished her times with family and friends. She proudly became a great, great grandmother in 2014. She had a kind and generous spirit. All who knew her loved her.

Surviving are son: Joe (Lynn) Wilkey; grandchildren: Lisa (Scott) Reinholt; Kevin (Valerie) Wilkey; Amy (Mike) Campbell; great-grandchildren: MItchell (Lindsay) Reinholt; Michael (Megan) Reinholt; Matthew Reinholt; Cody Wilkey; Clay Campbell; and Casen Campbell; and great-great-grandaughter: Winter (Winnie) Reinholt. Also surviving are brothers: Richard and George Wolfe.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Jeff Pfeifer officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, Midland, at 1 p.m. Monday, July 6.

Visitation hours will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 2, in the funeral chapel.

Thelma E. NorthThelma E. North, age 92, of Warsaw, passed away at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Miller’s at Oak Pointe, Columbia City.

Born February 9, 1923, in Etna-Troy Township of Whitley County, she was the daughter of Malen Ray and Mary Ann (Beeks) North.

Thelma lived most of her life in Whitley and Kosciusko Counties, except for 8 years in Bradley, Ill..  She graduated Columbia City High School with the Class of 1941.  She worked at Schultz Brothers Department Store in Columbia City and Warsaw. She also was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Bob Langohr in Columbia City and Dr. William Mayo, Bradley, Ill. A long time resident of Warsaw, Thelma had attended the Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her sister-in-law: Bobbie North, Columbia City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Gertrude Coy; Hazel Richey; and brothers: John and George North; and Ferry; James; Ed; and Glen Parrett.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, with calling hours one hour prior. Pastor David Arnold will be officiating. Burial to follow at Nolt Cemetery.

G. David HolabeckG. David Holabeck of Warsaw, passed away at his residence at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the age of 69.

He was a member of and worked as the maintenance supervisor at Pleasant View Bible Church in Warsaw retiring in 2013. He was also retired from the Army Reserves.

David was born on Nov. 27, 1945, in Mt. Vernon, Ill. to Gus David Holabeck and Marjorie N. (Coates) Holabeck. On August 23, 1969 he was married to Carol (Teeter) Holabeck, who survives in Warsaw.

He also leaves behind his son: Dave (Patricia) Holabeck, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters: Tracey (James) Shaffer, Johnstown, Pa.; Michelle (Brant) Burns, Warsaw; eight grandchildren: Scarlett and Jackson Shaffer; Blake and Rylee Burns; Aisia Austin; Sydney; and Kayman Holabeck; and his sister: Barbara (Laird) Veberroth, Orange, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.

His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Michael Hontz. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
