Some of his hobbies and interests included: talking on his ham radio, working on computers, shooting guns, fishing, driving his Polaris RZR, and taking photographs. Jay was an intelligent, self-taught man. He was really skilled in anything he did. At a very young age he would disassemble radios/scanners and taught himself to put every little piece back the way it was. As he got older he would do the same with computers and other electronics. He then soon had an eye for photography and was able to capture many beautiful photos. He was a man of many abilities which shaped him into the loving husband and father he was.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Moore in 2015, his grandparents Ira and Reva (Schooley) Moore, his other grandparents Glen and Katherine (Brookins) Cripe who remarried to Olga Cripe, his father-in-law, Deone Himes in 2014 and his mother-in-law, Evelyn Himes in 1997.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; Deona of Tucson, his two daughters, Shawna Hollopeter (husband Zach) of Oklahoma City; Ashley Moore of Mentone, his father; Richard Moore (companion Sandi) of Mesa, Ariz., his three brothers; Jeff (wife Angie), Jim (wife Tracey), John (wife Kim) who all reside in Kosciusko county. His five nieces, six nephews, four great nieces and three great nephews.

Military burial will be held for immediate family at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw. Memorial donations in Jays memory may be directed to Mission4Maureen, 1568 S. Green Rd, #21602 South Euclid, OH 44121 and would be greatly appreciated by family. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
