Lifetime Kosciusko County resident, James A. Bowser, 86, passed away at 4:44 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, in Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart.
Born April 18, 1929, in Warsaw, James was the son of John Alva and Anna M. (Beatty) Bowser. He and Patricia “Patsy” Winifred McQueer were joined in marriage Dec. 11, 1954 in Warsaw. James enlisted with the United States Air Force Feb. 4, 1947, in Indianapolis. Cpl. James A. Bowser was honorably discharged Jan. 20, 1949 through Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul, Illinois.
He was a truck driver for Kosciusko County Co-op, Super Sweet Feeds, Keebler Company and Pepsi. James retired in 1991. He was a former member of Warsaw’s Fraternal Order of Eagles and Warsaw Moose Lodge.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: James (Tammy) Bowser, Nappanee; and Kevin Bowser, Fort Wayne; two daughters and a son-in-law: Cheryl (Gary) Antonich, Elgin, Ill.; and Verdonna Huey, Warsaw; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Doris Jean Shanbeck; and Joanne King, both of Warsaw. Preceding James in death is his wife: Patricia Bowser, on Feb. 6, 2006, infant son: Steven Wayne Bowser; two great-grandchildren; Kaimen Michael Wallace; and Emma Patrice Gibson; parents: John and Anna Bowser; two brothers: John Bowser and infant Donald Bowser; three sisters: Kathryn Miller; Evelyn Kinsey; and Francis Prescott.
A graveside service in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw will take place on a date not yet determined.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy be given monetarily to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.
