Donald Ward, 70, Warsaw, passed away at 2:54 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. He was born July 7, 1947 in Gulfport, MS. to D.B. and Adrian (Crebs) Ward.
Donald faithfully served his Country in the United State Army from July 27, 1966 to April 27, 1979 attaining the Rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6_ with 1st Cavalry). He was united marriage to Margaret Hatten on Sept. 26, 2006 in Indianapolis. A Warsaw resident for 8 years, he was a former truck driver for Scheinder Trucking, a self-employed locksmith and a graduate of Rhema Bible School of Broken Arrow, AZ.
In addition, he was a lifetime member of VFW Post #1126 and Member of American Legion Post #49, both of Warsaw. b
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ward, Warsaw; son Timothy (Wendy) Ward, Jonesboro, Ark.; stepchildren: Margaret Ann Slone, Warsaw; Dorothy Wood, Fort Wayne; DeWayne Wood, North Manchester; grandchildren: Ryan Fischer, Maumelle, Ark.; Cory Fischer, Jonesboro, Ark.; Marlee Bass, Jonesboro, Ark.; seven step grandchildren plus many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents D.B. & Adrian Ward, brother Danny F Ward and sister Diane B Jones.
Visitation hours are scheduled from 1-3 p.m. in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Saturday, Nov. 11. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday with Pastor David Cripe officiating. Interment will be private in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with Military Honors rendered by American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
